Callum Elson ran his first 1500 m in April 2022. In 2023 he has represented GB twice, lowered his 1500 m PB to 3:35.39, and shown his competitive instincts with a mile PB where it matters most - with a Silver medal at the World Athletics Road Running Championships.
Thanks for the initiative, the good work and the transparency mindset you're trying to spread ! Always great to have a more detailled view on training. I'm also a nerd, so definetely interested in the details ! Anything shared is great but if it's available the more the better. I assume most athletes periodize their training, with different intent/training sessions depending on the moment of the season. So instead of just sharing the few weeks leading to a great race, going a bit backward would be super interesting (again, if possible). To fully grasp the training,I think the best is to combine some text explaining the philosophy of training, typical week structures, intent + the detailled weeks, so exactly what you did. In that regard, the small text description, explaining the intent/context for each week is helpfull. As an orienteer, I would be thrilled to have some insight into team GB orienteers training :) Especially considering the very good results in sprint in the context of upcoming WOC in Scotland ! And of course related to this, please keep sharing your training and journey on twitter, it matters ! Wish you all the best !
This is awesome 👌
Thanks for the inside look. It's really interesting to see how a professional looks at training.
